Food is amazingly good and very plentiful. Every time I drive by, there is a long line on both sides of the street to get in. I happened to drive by at 2 pm on a weekend and only one car ahead of me!!! Sooo good!!! Very extensive menu, except no tamales.

Ordered on DoorDash, I just love this place! I've had it a few times! The portion size goes crazy and the churo was so good! My order also came with all the salsa and a bag of fresh chips!

I went to the California Burrito in West Sacramento for the first time last night, and it may have actually been my first time at any of their locations. I can't remember for sure. But it was pretty solid! I went around dinner time, just a little after 6, and their small parking lot was fairly crowded. I squeezed myself into the only remaining spot and walked in expecting it to be fairly crowded, but only saw three other tables occupied, so some of the spots must have been used by employees. I get it; employees need to park, too! No one was in front of me in line so I took a second to look at the menu and figured I'd do a few different items. Some for there and some to take home for later. I knew off the bat I wanted a California burrito (their namesake) and also went with a breakfast burrito, steak quesadilla, chicken tostada, and large fountain drink. The employee behind the counter rang me up and asked if I wanted a printed receipt, which was nice. One bummer was they didn't have an option to tip employees via card and I rarely carry cash. I otherwise would have tipped, which is something I make to do regardless of sit down or counter service. After grabbing my drink, I filled up a Diet Coke and sat jr down at my table and went back to the salsa bar. This was a solid one! Super fresh pico, a variety of salsas, and a good range of mild to spicy. I grabbed a pico, a green, and a red salsa. Trying it with my chips that I filled a basket of, the pico was the winner. I could've added that to just about anything. Both salsas were good to but surprisingly spicier than I would have imagined. Not a bad thing, but just unexpected. If you like spicy, definitely give their salsa bar a try! My food came out shortly after, with some for here and some boxes to go, as requested. I opted to have the tostada and California burrito there. The California Burrito was gigantic and I could see it being hard for anyone to finish in one sitting. With a tostada, I definitely couldn't, so I ate about half. Fries were thick and crispy, which was great. Sometimes they're more flimsy and thin which I don't think makes for a good texture in a California Burrito. Might be sacrilegious, but I'm more of a fan of potatoes in a burrito than just plain fries. This was a healthy medium. That said, the California burrito was listed with steak on the menu and I thought it was missing a little sauce inside. Maybe sour cream or guac? It tasted fine but was overall a little dry and I would've liked the option for something else like pastor. Still a fine burrito, over all. The tostada was great! Very filling and big, and very affordable at under $5. I'm always surprised with how inexpensive tostadas are and how filling they can be. This was loaded with beans, chicken, lettuce, and salsa. Would definitely get it again! It was a light meal in itself for a very good price point. I finished this one completely. Today I heated up the breakfast burrito in my air fryer. Same issue as the California Burrito, it was just a little dry. Some kind of salsa option (or maybe just more of it?) inside the burrito would've been good. But the portions were generous and they was a lot of meat. Overall, a solid place with good prices and quick, friendly service. If you're not eating it there, make sure to load up on salsas to take home with you!

I'm a fan! Everything here has been delicious, & at or above my expectations. Their jugos are DELICIOUS (pineapple + orange = 10/10!), the shrimp super burrito is PACKED with shrimp, and the Chile Relleno combo is probably my new go-to menu item - it's HUGE. While they aren't open 24/7 like some drive-through taquerias, CA Burrito makes up for shorter hours with their quality ingredients. Only complaint so far is missing a bag of chips that I subbed for the side of tortillas; next time I'll have to double-check my bag before driving off.
